EU recommends Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs
The European Commission (EC) has recommended a voluntary sustainability reporting standard for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), developed by EFRAG, to help them respond to information requests from larger companies and financial institutions subject to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This interim measure aims to enhance SMEs’ access to sustainable finance, and improve their competitiveness, while also serving as a safeguard against excessive data demands from value chain partners until a formal delegated act is adopted.
